1. Scope and controller
SpeakTask (shown as Speak Task in Play Console) is a local-first Android task manager provided by UM Business, Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan, under the Google Play developer account Proxy Devs. Privacy contact: ans991998@gmail.com. The app has no account, ads, analytics SDK, or developer-operated task server.
2. Local data
SpeakTask processes data locally to create, display, edit, complete, import, export, recover, and delete tasks. Where applicable, this is necessary to provide the service you request.
- Task titles, optional notes, due-date text, priorities, completion state, and timestamps.
- Voice transcript text returned by Android's speech-recognition service.
- App preferences and any preserved recovery copy of unreadable task storage.
3. Voice recognition
Voice input is optional. SpeakTask opens Android's system speech service and requests offline recognition, but offline processing is not guaranteed. The service may send audio to its provider, including to another country, under that provider's privacy terms. SpeakTask receives text only and never receives or stores audio. You can always type instead.
4. Permissions and sharing
SpeakTask does not declare Android RECORD_AUDIO or INTERNET permission and does not sell or rent task content. Data leaves the app only when you intentionally use system speech recognition or export a backup.
5. Storage, retention, and recovery
Tasks remain in the app's private Android sandbox until deleted, app storage is cleared, or the app is uninstalled. Android cloud backup and phone-to-phone transfer are disabled. If unreadable data is detected, edits pause and a recovery copy is preserved for export before reset.
6. Import and export
You can export JSON and import a SpeakTask backup through Android's document picker. Any app or location you choose, including cloud storage, handles the exported file under its own terms. SpeakTask never uploads it automatically.
7. Diagnostics and Google Play
SpeakTask has no analytics or crash-reporting SDK. Google Play and Android may independently process purchase, installation, device, and crash information under Google's terms and your settings.
8. Rights and complaints
You can view, correct, delete, export, and import task data in the app and remove all local data in Android Settings. Depending on your location, you may have rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, and consent withdrawal. You may complain to your local data-protection authority, including the ICO in the UK or the authority in your EEA country.
9. Children
SpeakTask is not directed to children under 16. If local law permits a lower age for independent consent, that local rule applies; otherwise a parent or guardian should supervise use.
